Unique Selling Point
I think the unique selling point for my magazine would be the Genre. In Britain, the Rap/ Hip-Hop genre isn't covered extensively in magazines, this could be because rap isn't as widely promoted and listened to as it is in America.
I am mostly going to be focussing on American Artists, but I will try and include some British.

Inspirations
I like this magazine example because of the way his shirt matches the crisp white background and i am thinking of adding this into my own piece. I also like the way that the title of the Magazine contrasts with the background and matches with the main article, the artist name is also in bold letters which is also a convention i may be using on my own cover.Wednesday, 19 January 2011

Evaluation on Pitch Feedback.
From the comments that where made on my 25 word pitch, the point that kept coming up was the fact that the Hip/Hop genre does not get much Magazine cover in the UK, and by me creating a Hip/Hop magazine i shall be breaking this, and bringing something unique to the market. Although their is big coverage regarding the Hip/Hop market in the USA i think that it is lacking in England, so that should be the audience i aim for. This could mean that I have to add other features that will appeal to an English audience, for example the use of English artists as well as the main American Artists.
Another point that was made was on the name, a few people really liked the name as it relates to the genre of the magazine, and hence- will appeal to the audience I am looking to reach.
Mood Board
I researched a few rap magazines, and used their images in my mood board. The other images are pictures that relate back to the Rap/Hip-Hop genre, and have given me ideas of the sort of front cover I can design.

Name Decision
As my magazine is going to be based around the Hip-Hop/Rap genre, I thought that the name should relate back to that in some way. I did some research and came up with a list of possible names. I then Narrowed the list down using the opinion of other people, and the font i had chosen and found the the name that suited the most was "Hustla"
Hustla is a good choice because it relates back to the rap genre, so it appeals to the audience I am aiming to sell too, it is also a good choice, because- according to my research there is no other magazines operating under the name "Hustla" so it makes my magazine unique.
Below is the original list of names:
C.R.E.A.M
Hype
Beatz
Word
Hustler
Chronic
Phresh

Looking at fonts..
I asked some of my peers, and my teacher which font they would recommend and the top right hand font received the most positive feedback, so this is the font I shall try first.
